What HTC-compatible software works with Telus P4000

Hi All,

As the P4000 is fairly new, can anyone recommend what I should look for when downloading software for it?

E.g. should I look to see that the software works on the TyTN, or another phone , or just look to see that the software is WM5 compatible?

Thanks,
Craig

As a new owner of a P4000, I'm awaiting this list too. So far I have found that quite a number of apps for WM5 work already and the problems I have run into stem from internal program problems rather then compatibility issues.

I am frustrated by how slow Owners of software sites are in updating their supported device list.

The device is fairly new and it's hard to get technical support from Telus and HTC. Don't know what else to say except google it to find a possible solution.

Hi guys thought I'd chime in on this one. I've had my P4000 just over a week now, and I'm finding that I install a new proggie on it every day, just to try out. I have of course deleted a number of them, so far everything that's listed as working with Windows Mobile 5 (not Smartphone edition of course) has worked, with the exception of WiFiFoFum. For some reason after I close WiFiFoFum, I find that I can't get Wifi at all without doing a soft reset. Right now I'm running just about all of SPB Software's stuff, along with VoiceCommand 1.6, and a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff with no problems other than the slowdowns inherent with loading a whole wack of proggies on the today screen.

I downloaded the opera mini browser, but have not been able to install it correctly. I'm not sure of the process as I tried to extract it from the PC as well as installing it on the P4000's Programs Folder.

On a good note, Voice Command 1.6 rocks, other than not being able to activate via BT headset. I have to press an assigned hard button on the P4000 to activate it.

Iphony works great ...

I've just installed the new HTC x-button 1.5, and it's great too.

Let's keep the list coming

I've used a bunch of software successfully, and the only thing which hasn't worked at all has been the latest version of Opera Mobile:
* SPB Mobile Shell
* SPB Phone Suite
* SPB GPRS Suite
* Resco Explorer 2007
* Resco Keyboard
* Resco Photo
* MobiPocket Reader
* Microsoft Reader
* TCMP 0.72 (Core Media Player)
* Audible.com AudibleAir / AudiblePlayer
* WisBar Advance Toolbar (had some problems with this later for some reason)
* Nero Mobile (useless, so didn't register and removed)
* PocketInformant
* FlexMail 2007 (not impressed, so removed)

I think any WM5 PocketPC (not SmartPhone) app works fine, pretty much.

Only tried the golfing game, and I sync with XP desktop and a Vista notebook.
