i have searched on here if i could make ringtones for alerts. My buddy has a Moto q and he can put any sounds for his alerts. I was thinking since my 8525 is a better phone that i should be able to do that as well. When i did my search on HoFo there were already a thread with the exact same question, but that did not answer any of my questions. Also if i was to record a quote off of my T.V. could i use that as a ringtone?

For ringtones just make them mp3's and put them into the Rings folder. For alerts make them wav files and place them into the windows folder.

I use a free program called Audacity to edit and convert files. just google it.

Audacity

It's ok... but I normally use adobe audition for my sound editing needs...
