[CAMPAIGN] Ask Panasonic !!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: G_Unit

Ok guys, I'm convinced that we have to ask Panasonic to release phones to the world, and not Japan only. Off course there is no much to do, but maybe if we start some kind of campaign to let Panasonic know how fan users feel, maybe we can make it. I don't know, is better than cry without doing nothing.
What you think?

Well, I propose to send e-mails to Junji Kanegawa at the public relations office of Panasonic Mobile Comunication of Japan.

Let him know (with all our respect) how much we'll apreciate Panasonic to take care about his worldwide customers. It's easy, mail him!

The direction is : kanegawa.junji@jp.panasonic.com

Well, let's do it!

I just wrote at Panasonic France for information (i'm french) sorry for my english, and they reply that they are no information to give us and they say nothing else, i'm very despite by these reply, but i thinck that your idea is good and i'll vwrite to kanegawa.junji and i hope i am not the only one to do this.
For information i made a forum for Panasonic (see in may profil) but it is french forum

Come on guys!! Is not so difficult. It take only a couple of minutes.

The thread has 64 visits, and assuming only the 10% are really fans of Panasonic, we should be 6 mailers. But we still being only two??

Did you see the new P904i that Panasonic sells on Japan?? Don't you want a phone like this one??

Come on! Let's give it a try

Posted by: forumpanasonic

i will are do anything to have P904i usable in Europe what I call a digest of style of technology and class.
Purely splendid and if Japan not doesn't comes have us I will go to Japan one day!

Posted by: yangj08

Pity the P904i only has 3G, though. I don't think that Europe's network is developed enough for 3G-only phones to be usable for travel and the US is a whole other can of worms. Maybe Softbank's 705P/706P (GSM is available on those phones)?

Posted by: G_Unit

P904i is currently GSM/WCDMA (3G), so maybe is not imposible.

Keep the faith!

Posted by: AL9999

No, P904i is 3G (W-CDMA) only. It has no GSM support.

Posted by: G_Unit

Ok, I have read this morning (I can't remembre where ) that series 9xx will support global roaming over gsm network worldwide.
I guess that was wrong information.

I found it! Look:

It says, ALL models are dual GSM & WCDMA/3G. Here is the complete article:

That article is incorrect. If you read the press release below:

http://www.nttdocomo.com/pr/2007/001335.html

You'll see if you scroll down that only '3G roaming support' is mentioned. The phones will work on worldwide 3G W-CDMA 2100 networks, but don't support any GSM ones.

It's not until the 905i series, coming up at the end of the year, that full 3G/GSM roaming will be offered across the board.

Posted by: G_Unit

Well, excellente news about 905i series!!

Keep mailing Panasonic until we get some response.!!

Email sent...

hopefully I'll get a response..

Who is that kanegawa.junji@jp.panasonic.com anyway?

Posted by: G_Unit

I don`t know exactly what position it has, but he is at the Public Relations Office of Panasonic Mobile Comunication of Japan.

take to reference..

Posted by: trickster_qc

well.. NEC & Panasonic.... the name ESTEEMO is crappy......

Posted by: yangj08

And nothing's seemed to come out of it since it formed back in November 2006. I'm waiting for the 905i series- hopefully if an official release doesn't happen then someone will set to unlocking it.

Posted by: AL9999

I seem to remember this bit of news. I also remember that it has almost no bearing whatsoever on the world market; it was created to help them cut costs making handsets for Japan.

I just rechecked the news story made on it; not once was anything mentioned about the overseas market. Not surprising anyway...

In my first language, Catalan, phonetically it means 'I love'.

Posted by: G_Unit

My first language is Spanish (I'm from Argentina) and yes, it sounds like this, but not literally, is more like "I estimate you".

Well, remember, keep mailing Panasonic

Posted by: forumpanasonic

not reply to me... anybody has news?

Posted by: yangj08

I never got a reply to the mail I sent. Maybe they only speak Japanese?

Posted by: G_Unit

Well, no reply either, but the idea is not to get a reply. Just to let them know how we feel. Maybe this could make a difference. But off course, they silence is not hopefull.
