Hehe. I did just that. I flashed my Fido 6126 to 6131. I was able to use all the features except Infrared, Radio and PTT. My network doesn't have PTT and I don't think the 6126 has the other hardware. When I turn on infrared, it tells me it's on, but I can't connect to anything. Then again, I'm not really sure how to use it. The radio is the most disappointing one. I bought the headset included with the 6131, but I still wasn't able to access the radio feature. Other than that, mp3 ringtones, Sudoku, delivery reports, working music player (previously shuffle didn't work with my Plantronics 590E), working flight mode, etc.
I think I should also mention I don't use the internet, so I'm not sure if I can enter wap settings for my provider and I don't use MMS, but setting those shouldn't be a problem.

how did you flash it, with JAF? i bricked 3 trying to flash through USB with Phoenix

Why would you brick 3 of them?
Wouldn't one be enough to make you stop? Anyway, I used Nokia Software Updater after updating the product code using NSS. But, I've also flashed it using Phoenix. NSU is definitely a lot easier. With Phoenix, there is a dead USB flashing option, which will revive your dead phones. Also, just make sure you use the latest flash files with Phoenix. You cannot downgrade your firmware. I found this out trying to put 3.70 on my phone with 6.10. You have to use the same or a greater version. The latest out now is 6.10, so you should be able to use Phoenix without an issue.

can you flash the 6126 cingular phone to the nonbranded nokia 6126 firmware?

how do you get phoeniX

bb5 security disables you from downgrading firmware on those models. 6126 and 6133 share same firmware platform. so u can flash to that without changing functionality of the phone

do you need the actual Phoenix black box to flash with dead usb? because i heard that some people use cracks and flash it without the adapter

If I do this, will I be able to run unsigned programs on the 6126? My 6126 will not allow any of my Java applications access to the blue tooth transceiver.
