Who keeps their BlackJack in their FRONT pocket?

I do even with the extended battery. And lately that's just been another one of the bonuses of the BlackJack. Even when I'm wearing jeans that aren't baggy it doesn't phase me at all. No bulge or anything and it's great to have it right there ready to go. I thought I would try a holster(I don't think any work with the ext. batt) but at this point I don't need it. I tell ya this BlackJack is REALLY growing on me.

I was just curious who else carrys their BlackJack in their FRONT pocket. You can't do that with too many smartphones. Especially ones with static keyboards. I would imagine the Excalibur would be easy to do this with too.

I carry ANY phone in my front pocket. I am getting a Blackjack TODAY, and I will be carrying it in my front pocket. I am currently using a TyTN (work) and a Dash (personal) and I love that the Dash is small and light. I am hoping the BJ will be also (and from what I've heard, it'll actually be BETTER because it is narrower than the Dash).

Tis' narrower but will be thicker because IMHO you NEED to use the extended battery. I've tried carrying my Wizard in my front pocket but it bulged too much for me.

Yeah, that's why I'm opting for the BJ over the TyTN. I'm sick of these huge phones.

Always have carried mine in my front packet (6 months). Just recently got around to getting a screen protector or it as well. Other then that, it is on its own for protection.

Heck, I carry it with my wallet in the same pocket, no "comfort" issues at all.

If you aren't in a 3G area the regular battery is just fine. My BJ will last 3 days, on 24 hours a day with plenty of texting and at least 30-60 minutes of calls a day.

I agree. I might try doing that again. At the same time the added gerth, I kinda like.

Ok, the BJ I received isn't in such good shape - the seller misrepresented the item, so I'm engaged in a dispute over the device and will probably be sending it back. So I guess I won't be keeping my BJ in my front pocket.

But I still keep my TyTN there. It's safer there than anywhere else.

what was wrong with it if you don't mind my asking?

Light scratches on the screen and some "dents" (I don't know what else to call them) on the corners. It was represented as "perfect" otherwise I wouldn't have been so picky.

Here are some images of the BJ in question.

WOW! Perfect condition eh? FAR FROM. That item is a 6 out of 10 and that would be generous. I hope you get out of that mess with out too much effort. What a scam.

Yeah-- I carry it in my front pocket. No problems at all. However- I just got the extended battery. I have to say-- it does take some getting used to in my hand now that it's quite thicker. But as far as pockets go, it is just fine even with the extended battery.

My only beef with the Blackjack is that the missed keystrokes really get annoying, the keyboard is a little too crammed, and the D pad is too flat. Also, I wish it had a little more memory because I fill up the memory too fast saving the Emails on the internal memory. So now I save the emails on my micro card, but it's a pain hot-swapping micro cards now.

I cut a circular piece of gorilla tape and put it on my dpad and it makes it way better. In fact I've been using the same piece since Nov and it still works better than without. It's got enough of an edge that I know when to stop my thumb without needing to look.

Some people have used egrips and say that works too. I'm thinking about updating it though. I'm going to custom cut some of those hard rubber stick on things. A circular one for the dpad and a small one for the OK button.

The keyboard for me is ok and I'm used to it but it's a sacrifice you have to make to have such a small form factor with a qwertybar design. It sounds like you're saving quite a bit of emails. Not sure even a large amount of internal storage would help that much...

Yeah, I'm out. No harm, no foul I guess. The seller realized that there were some issues with the device, and agreed to take the item back. Also, he said next time he'll provide some images of the device so everyone would be "on the same page" regarding the condition of the device. (I guess I should have demanded images, but it was regarded as "perfect" and he shipped me his device before I shipped mine back which gave me the opportunity to inspect it before making the deal final.)

I guess it was worth the $13 shipping charge to realize I wouldn't like the Blackjack anyway. The keyboard is too small and I felt restricted and kinda cramped by the OS. I like Windows Mobile, but I prefer PPC over Smartphone any day. (Even my Dash was better than the Blackjack in my opinion, which I sold just last night anyhow.)

Anyway, I've sold a couple other devices since then and I'll be keeping my TyTN. I'm going for a Treo 750 now. It's already been purchased and it should ship today. Yea!

I have had the Monaco case w/belt clip on my BJ w/Extended Battery for the last week. It fits the phone well and allows complete connectivity and use.

Worth every penny...

Yeah, I wish someone (HTC hint...) would make a Dash-like phone that ran full PPC. What's the big deal ? Just add the touch screen and a place to store the stylus. Many things I want to do that the PPC (or PalmOS does), but WM Smartphone doesn't. Just last night, someone sent me an email with someone else's email address embedded in the email. I *so* wanted to pull out a stylus, highlight the email address (or any text for that matter) to save, and copy and paste it into Contacts. But nope, no way to do it with Smartphone... (ugh). Or setting a static IP address for my WiFi connection (yeah there probably is a registry way to do it, but) no way with Smartphone. Nevermind clicking on IMAGEMAP webpage like pointing to a location on a map.

Just build a Dash with a touch screen and run full PPC...

Or emulate the functionality of a Blackberry and enable horizontal scrolling with cut/copy/paste functions.
