8525 Cases for Workouts

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I looked around on the other threads for cases that work well with the 8525 for working out with and didn't find much.

I am preferably looking for an armband case with a clear plastic front so that I can easily see my playlist if need be. It would be nice if the case would Velcro or button onto the armband that way I could easily remove to change songs and what not.

There a ton of cases to look through all over the internet so as I am looking I thought I would throw this out there to see if anyone has had any luck finding anything good. I will take any such experiances, not just what I described above. Thanks alot.

spend $30-50 on a case or $80 for an iPod shuffle, or even less for a small MP3 player?

Oh but I enjoy my all in one device. While I workout I have my music going, plus I can get my calls. Also I use Word and Excel to track my workouts and keep track of my weight and rep amounts.

Working out with a PDA strapped to your arm is not cool.

Using a PDA is not cool in general. So i obviously don't care about that.

And really the main reason i want it is when I am mowing grass and doing other such things outside, but I figured I didn't need to explain that.

You dont need to explain it...I dont know why everyone wants to tell you why you dont want to do what you want to instead of helping you find what you want.

I need an armband holster for my blackjack as well. maybe an ipod case will work?

This is true. To be cool you have to staple it to your arm.

Maybe a stereo bluetooth headset that supports AVRCP so you could control the music player with it? Then you could just keep the PDA in your gymbag nearby.

I have a pair of S9's that I use religously. Like I mentioned above, I want to use this for a variety of reasons besides working out, such as lawn work. Thanks for the response though.

Do you like the S9's? I tried the Princes Leiha style and loved them except they hurt my ears after 10 minutes. Way to big to run with but they were nice for sound and around the office.

My blackjack is no bigger than an ipod and I figure the armband method is the best place for running. Plus I find that the phone on my waist doesn't do well RF wise. I like to stream music and news from it so it needs good exposure for signal.

Just FYI, I'd like to know too.

Who cares about "cool"? I have no desire for an iPOD. The 8525 does everything I need! I've even got SlingBox on it when I want to watch TIVO. Recorded shows or live TV. What a deal!

What's wrong with that? Plenty of people at my gym workout with one. Like the other poster said, they keep track of their workout, listen to music and accept calls.

I like them alot better than the "Princess Leiha" style (Southwing SA505 is what I was using). They didn't really hurt my ears but my ears did get hot after awhile. These probably annoy my ears a little more because they stay on by basicaly squeezing in your ears, the earbuds are fairly soft though. Here is the thread in the bluetooth forum about these: S9

I use the Krussel Verticale (I think thats the name) leather case with a special krussel belt attachment made from high-strength steel when I run. Not only does it hold it in place, but it's guarateed not to fail you if you're a cop or in the military. http://www.krusell.se/productMulti....563&category=14

Krussel makes some of the best cases out there. Your other option would be a rubberizd case

Thanks, exactly what I'm looking for. Now to find one of their cases that works well with the blackjack.

Use the Krussel website. I think the blackjack may use the same size case as the 8525 or just one size smaller. (8525 is S-Large, use the casefinder application on their website to find out)

Edit: I was right. Here is their product lineup for the Blackjack
