How to install software???

I just downloaded NewsCopier RSS reader for my new Pearl. It has an .alx and .cod file. In the applicaion loader it only asks for the .alx file and then I get an error when I try to install. I'm sure the handset needs the .cod file too.
Can someone help me? This is my first BB and boy to I feel dumb!
