BB 8100 end button not responsive

I was wondering if anybody has had a problem with their end button not working properly. I have to press the button extra hard for it to respond. I cannot end calls with a normal press. I've had the phone for only 14 days now and I can't get a new replacement because it has passed the 14 day window that T-Mobile allows. Now I am stuck with doing a warranty claim and a handset exchange through customer care. It doesn't seem fair that I have only had the phone for such a short amount of time and now that it is a little broken I have to settle for a refurbished handset.
Please share your experiences with refurbished pearls from T-Mobile. I was told by a T-Mobile rep, whom I bought the phone from, that since I have the white pearl with the latest software there is a good chance I would get a new replacement because, according to this T-Mobile rep, the white pearls are not even six months old. Is this true? Please all thoughts are welcome.
