Pearl: Seperate SMS from Email?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Can you separate emails and SMS's like you can on the 8800? If not now, maybe in future with software update?

Thanks!

With the newest OS release from TIM Italy you can, but it has stability problems. I would suggest waiting until your carrier releases an update to the OS.

Where can I download the latest stable released (non-beta) firmware for a Pearl? (T-Mobile) Thanks!

The latest stable release is from Cingular's red version of the pearl. Follow the instructions at the following link to see how to put it on your phone:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/rin...1-4-2-only.html
The TIM Italy release is there too, but people have stability problems with it.

So I assume that the Cingular release will be updated to match TIM Italy's version pretty soon then...?

I hope so, but I won't be holding my breath. The Cingular version that ends in .73 is what I use, and it's much more stable than the .64 version that t-mo currently offers. In my opinion, it's worth upgrading.

Is the red Pearl and black different things?

The red one is only available from Cingular. Both Cingular and TMO have black versions. TMO also has a white version. Same phones, different colors. The software versions may/is different but that can easily be changed.

I have a black TMO Pearl running the Cingular 0.73 software. Works like a champ. If you want to upgrade, follow the instructions in this string: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1138440. Very good instructions and easy to follow.

Note, like several people, I tried the TIM Italy 1.66 software version and went back to the Cingular 0.73 version because of problems with the TIM Italy version.

Thanks for the information.
