I flashed my phone and it worked great and stuff, but I just signed up for text messages, tried to send 3 times and it would show in my outbox but wouldnt go to the other persons phone, tried media.net or whatever and got "Connection unsuccessful, try again later." I flashed it to get it back to cingular default but still cant text or go on web, and get the same errors, someone please help.

did you check your web sessions folder to see if you do, in fact, have cingulars web and MMS sessions?
Posted by: decayoflife
no, so what am i looking for exactly?
Posted by: jrsjr
i don't remember the V3 menu, but i think it's menu>web access>web sessions - if they are there you should see either Cingular or Express as the default and Cingular MMS. if you don't you didn't use a cingular flex when you reflashed. you can get the settings to enter on cingulars website here:
https://www.cingular.com/support/co...-device-support
follow the device setup for browser and MMS

might want to check if the web sessions file is read only or not. Make sure it's system not read only because read only might have put a lock on it to prevent it being edited.

i went to web sessions and have Cingular and MMS, Cingular has a check mark, but I'm still not sure what to do to get it to work :P
and i went thru all the steps on the website but still nothing

you might want to call cingular customer service and make sure your account is properly set up to allow text and mms messaging.

well im on a shared account and all the other people on the same account have messaging that works fine..

i've never been able to get MMS on any of my phones, only text. even the ones bought from Cignular!
called the reps they all enabled it and said it was already enabled. never figured it out.. :-(

i only want to be able to text message :/
Posted by: jrsjr
well, let's make sure we're all on the same page! straight text messages should work if the phone does - no internet connection is required. i'd go back to cingular until they fix it!! if you mean mms (multimedia messages being text plus picture/video/audio) then you need the browser and mms web sessions working.

supprised no one mentioned it, text messaging should have nothing to do with which software flash your phone has. The phone reads the SMSC from the sim card, if its incorrect, you have to physically go in the menus and change it to the right one that your service provider uses...

This worked for me: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=440530
And you need to have the correct 'websessions file' and the correct cert files, etc. look thru this: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=827078 and there is a wealth of info on these and related topics here: http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=289

Ok well I got a new sim card from cingular, and now I can text message, which is what I wanted. But I can't connect to AIM or MEDIAnet, MEDIAnet doesnt matter but I wouldn't mind being able to connect to aim.

log onto at&t website - click on personal>support by topics>phone>device etc till you get to the instuctions to enter the settings - browser and mms.
