V3M and Bluetooth problems

My wife and I both have the V3m, I have the h700 and my wife the h500. When my wife tried to connect her h500 to her phone she found that she could make outgoing calls just fine but every time she got an incomming call the bluetooth would not pick up any outgoing sound, like the mic was muted or something. After trying several suggestions from Motorola, they finally RMA'ed her a new one. She tried connecting this one only to get the same thing, on incoming calls her mic would not pick up sound so your caller could not hear you. I began to suspect it might ber a problem with her phone so I connected her h500 to my phone and it worked fine.

Our service provider is Verison and we bought these phones right after christmas so I'm guessing the waranty is up by now and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to try and fix this. Maybe some way to reset the phone?

I had that exact same problem with the same phone and Verizon also, however, it only occurred when the ringtone assigned to the incoming number was one I recorded myself. Additionally, the headset did not indicate an incoming call in any way. I only knew I was getting a call because I could hear the phone ring. I tried three different headsets before I was convinced that it wasn't the headset. I also took my phone to Verizon, and they told me it was the phone and replaced it, thereby proving that the Verizon people did not understand the problem in the first place. I also posted the problem on the bluetooth forum, to no avail.

It's possible that your wife has some setting on her phone that is causing the problem (like my recorded ringtones). Try comparing the settings on your phone to those on your wife's and changing her settings wherever they differ from yours.

Thanks for the reply! She does have self recorded ringtones she uses. I'll have her change them to standards and see if that changes anything.

Please let me know if that works or not. I'm still hoping to get my problem fixed somehow.

I have the exact same problem. I bought a couple of H500s for my wife and I. We both have V3ms. After a lot of trial and error I found that the headset only works properly if the phone itself is set on vibrate. If I turn up the ringer and answer the phone with the headset, the other person can't hear me. My wife uses one of the standard ringtones on her phone, so it's not related to the ringtone.

I'm sure this problem is related to the V3m and it may just be a sofware problem somewhere. I just have to remember to set it on vibrate when I'm using the headset.

Glad I'm not the only one having this problem.
