I'm trying to get pictures off my phone.....

I've bought the cable that hooks it up to my computer. Its the right one, it fits etc. But, oddly enough when I plug it in 9 times out of ten my phone turns it self off. Also, I installed the drivers and it cant' recognize my phone.....

Also, I have no CLUE how to get pictures off the phone. Not tech savvy like that..

Its rather important that I get the picture off quickly, *giving it to my girlfriend, as a birthday gift* Bday is on sat!.

ANY help would be a blessing!! THANKS A BUNCH!
