8915 - Annoying four beeps

I have the Virgin Mobile Audiovox 8915 "Snapper." Whenever my phone is out of range and displaying the "Searching for System" message, it continually plays this really annoying sound of four beeps in a row. I'm wondering if there are any known hacks to disable this?

Put the phone on silent mode or turn it off.
