8525: Xpress Mail and AMR codec questions

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just updated my 8525 with the new ATT ROM and when using Xpress Mail with my Earthlink account, it is deleting the emails off the Earthlink server when I download emails. With the older ROM this did not happen. Is there a setting I am missing? I have been looking and I can't find it.

Also, is there a way to force this phone to use only the AMR full rate codec and disable the half rate codec? I did this on my Razr V3i and it made world of difference with garbbled audio and echoing.

Seven Software, Inc. makes XPress Mail for Cingular.
If you want you can try Seven's new beta version. It's an open beta:

This new beta mirrors your inbox. So if you delete off the 8525 it'll delete off the server. If you do not, it should not.
It's beta and still has some bugs but as of the last version it's working pretty well. Just a suggestion if you're looking for an alternative.

I have never found a way to force AMR-FR so far. Doesn't mean it's not possible. Unfortunately I don't have answers to your XPress mail problem. That kind of sucks.
Try installing the latest version of Xpress mail if you haven't. I assume you have though. Or try the new beta.

Thanks, I think I understand I now. I deleted them off my 8525 before I downloaded them to my Outlook mailbox on my laptop. I presume that if I leave them on the phone until I download them on my laptop then I won't lose them?

Yes. If you delete off the phone, it'll go delete that email of the server. So if you don't delete from the phone you shouldn't have that problem. I don't think there's any way to override this behavior. Also if you delete from the server it should delete from the phone on the next sync also.
