I was just wondering if anyboy knows a way to change the sound that lets you know the alarm is armed. We have a 2006 Accord and the horn honks everytime we arm it.. wakes up the family cause its parked in the garage at night.. I'd rather have it beep a little lower in volume or just be muted with the lights flshing... Doesn't mention any setting in the manual..

Thanks!

you turn on the alarm when parked in a garage?

well.. it doesnt hurt to turn on the alarm does it? its just an extra click on the button..

That's my biggest pet peeve with cars. I absolutely despise when the horn honks when cars lock. I have a nice subtle "beep" on my car, and I love it. It's also volume adjustable.

Only the VW's have a short enough little "toot" to the horn where it's not disruptive.

Try this place... there's something on there called an "electronic beep module"... might be what you're looking for

My neighbours have lexus's and i love the way they sound when they're armed.. its like an electronic "beep beep" instead of the damn horn!

When you arm your car/lock it with your remote, simply do it while your door is open and that should arm/lock your car.

I don't know 100% but it works for me I suggest trying it

My locks pop back open for some reason if I do that

The car won't lock if something is still open..

Darn! It works for me but I don't have a after market security system just the stock on that really just gives me key less entry and a panic button.

just lift up the outside door handle as u close the door

is a safety thing that keep ppl locking their keys inside teh car(but ppl still does it somehow...)

Yeah I know... my car came with a little credit card-sized key that'll open the locks and trunk but it won't start the car. I sometimes actually just throw my keys in the trunk and just carry that key in my sock or something (usually when I'm doing some sort of activity outside)... REALLY convenient though

Honda's are a bit misleading. The car is locked and armed the first time you press the lock on the key fob. The only purpose to the second lock press is to make it honk so that you know its locked for sure if you are not looking at it, it doesn't arm the car any further than the first button press. My mother has an Acura and she refuses to push the button a second time...but its still armed. I'm pretty sure thats how it works, but to test simply leave the window down, press the button once to lock it and then unlock the car by reaching inside and pulling up the lock...it should set off the alarm with no need for an extra button push and resulting horn shock.

I totally agree though, outright horn honks are not necessary. I have a Jetta and an Accord, and the Jetta does the half volume horn when it arms which is much better.

hmm

on the pathfinder and the altima, if u hold both lock and unlock at the same time, it will silence it.

lol try that !

I had an Altima for a rental car and that's the first thing I did when I got it
