HELP ASAP Curitel USB Composite Device keeps installing in regards to VM 8915 Snapper

I attempted to use this guide http://virginmobilesnapper.freehostia.com/index.htm and have gotten hung up by the Found New Hardware Wizard for the Curitel USB Composite Device, it's loading cur_whnt.sys To C:\\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS and has been doing so for about an hour. I was on the How to connect phone to computer: step. I am pretty handy when It comes to these things and I followed the instructions. I just need to know if I disconnect the phone while this is happening will it damage my phone or computer. Thanks Jay
