New 3125 ROM and SIM contacts

Has anyone else noticed a change with the newest 3125 ROM and how it handles SIM contacts? I heavily use my Outlook contacts but I also copied a majority of these contacts to my SIM in case my phone hard resets or I have to move the SIM to a new phone temporarily.
I've gone into Start>Settings>Phone>Call Options and unchecked the box to "Show SIM contacts" and now when I press the contact button I do not see my SIM contacts but the call log still pulls them.
For example, if my wife calls, it should show "Wife m" when she calls from her cell. Instead, it shows Wife/M which is how it is stored in the SIM contact.
Am I missing an option or has this changed?
