I am a Service Tech for Verizon Wireless and VzW outsourced to a Company called Solectron. So in other words limited pay scale for mainly doing customer service. Pay is higher but from my retail experience in wireless phones the pay rate is the lowest I have ever seen in my past 5 years in the business.
I would like to know if ATT has Service Tech's for fixing mobile phones. I know back in the day there was a Cingular store down the street from me that was a main hub before all these little mall stores opened up and they did warranty replacements & repairs there. So does AT&T do service and repair. If so any suggustions on what to ask for.
Thanks

As far as I know all of AT&T's repairs are done through the customer mailing in their handset. They are given refurbs etc but I've never seen or heard of stores doing repairs anymore.

cingular does not do in store repairs on phones anymore. instead, the customer mails the phone back and gets a refurb via their exchange by mail program.
small independent shops have a very difficult time making a profit in the handset repair business. they often run at a loss after taking into account the cost of the store lease, employee pay, equipment fees, and other costs of doing business. and to further complicate making a profit, there are numerous entry level handsets on the market that can be bought for around $50 new. why repair an old unit when you can purchase a new one for less money?
