Help with LG CDMA Phone

Okay, I have an LG LX5550 which works fine with Bitpim and the cable i have. The only time it has a problem is when it uses the USB serial port. It starts to get data then resets itself in the middle of it. i have tried a bunch of different drivers and the cable works with other programs, unless it uses the Serial port. Does anybody have any hints on how to solve this?
