Door to Door DSL sales..are they OK?

My agent chain is having a contest. The 1st rep to reach 30 DSL sales will get twice the commision and also win $1500 and 2 tickets for a Carnivel cruise.

I was thinking about going door to door in some of the upper neighborhoods and try to sell DSL. Is this OK?

One word of advice, hit apartment complexes! Six thirty and leave fliers with prices(important no one calls to ask for price!)

Seems like a good idea but what's stopping them from just calling at&t after getting your flyer. Kinda like how IRU flyers fail in that the people go online or call it in.

Simple, either lie and say offer good by calling xxx-xxx-xxxx, or include something thats useful like flyer's that you can get stacks from at the local pizza places.

About ~25 years ago my daughter wanted to make some extra money so I took her to 5 or 6 fast food places that delivered and I(Hmm she) made them all the same offer. She made minimum wage times the three for the ones that went for the deal.

To this day we don't eat at the rest that didn't!

I'm sorry. What? What offer did you make?

I have no idea what you just said.

I cant figure what is unclear so:

The OP mentioned door to door to sell DSL, witch has it's problems(not home and/or to much walking) so I suggested trying an apartment complex(or townhouse area) and leave fliers where no one is home. You can hit couple hundred units in a couple hours.

Or

She got paid by three of the food joints to deliver their fliers at the same time!

Or

The fliers can just repeat the same offer used by at&t only personal. It may get your feet in some doors, even to sell phones. Kind of like a personal one stop shop.

Or

Any combination.

I say go for it. There is nothing wrong with it. Make your money.

Hmm.. so now I think Sonix means go to places that hand out flyers and get money from that as well by distributing not only DSL flyers but theirs.

Maybe. At first I thought he went to 5 or 6 fast food joints to get his daughter a job or something. I seriously had to read it about 10 times (5 times last night and 5 times this morning) before I actually understood what he was saying. LOL. No offense Sonix...

Hey now...I'll be forced to report you to the hofo police!

She was 13 at the time and it ended badly. I was so scared I drove her around to keep the bad away! She did learn a lesson because now she is a rep for a drug manufacturer making six figures. Funny thing is, that business is like b2b wireless sales, but with regulations at every turn.

Maybe stick to your consumerist threads...

Just so everyone is clear before they see this idea and run with it. You can get a ticket for soliciting if you don't have a permit/ license for it! I used to do door to door sales. I never paid for the permit cause I always talked myself out of it and just quit for the day and went to a new area the next but I have beeeen stopped a few times cause people call and complain about you bothering them at 2 in the afternoon.
