v360 as a modem

I apologies if this is a total n00b question but I am trying to find information on how to use my Motorola v360 as modem. All I know is that I need to have a data package from my cell provider. I have bluetooth and am hoping to use that to connect but I do not know what, if anything else, I will need.

Do I need special software or if I connect the phone will my laptop (brand new Acer Aspire 5570 running Vista) just automatically recognize the phone and away I go? As you can see, I am basically clueless and all the info I have found online is quite vague.

I really really would love any walkthroughs or help anyone could provide. I am trying to set this up for a family member who is in the hospital and really wants internet access. The nurses have said that they look the other way when people use their phone like this (as they are technically not supposed to) and I REALLY want to get this up and running asap. Please help!

Good luck asking. It seems anyone who asks here how to use their cell as a modem is quickly ignored. I won't ignore you. I ami n the same boat. My carrier is MetroPCS. I know there is a way to allow your phone to access a network without a subscription. Such as Verizon's EVDO. But it seems no one is of any help. Its the american way I guess. Good luck in your search for this info.
