I just have a question for you guys, how do you like your T-mobile dash?? I really loved the se w950i especially when its paired with the hbh-ds970! But my question is how do you guys like surfing the web on the dash?? Is it fast?
Can you use a 3rd party maybe a firefox or someother type browser which is better for multi tab browsing? Also anyone used a hbh-ds970 with the T-mobile dash? If so is the volume loud? Is the quality on par with the ipod or even better yet good as the w950i or even better?? Also the ds970 bluetooth headset could be a little louder on the se w950i so I'm just curious if it is loud on the dash? Also how is the phone calls on the dash? I've heard the battery life is awesome. Please Help!!!

The dash is really everything you will need put into a phone. Surfing the web with wi-fi it depends on how strong the signal is. At home I surf the net pretty quick (well quick for a phone with low memory) I dont think you can use firefox on the dash. The volume is pretty loud to me. But because the speaker is on the back you might cover the spearker hole (if your lying it down on its back) and the sound might not be as loud as it should be. When you use activesync 4.5 its really good, it transfer (mp3's and movies) data pretty quick. The phone calls is pretty good but if you have the touch sensitive strip on, it might get in the way (the volume would go to very low or to very high depending on how sensitive you have it on) when your calling or receiving a call.

If you are concerned about audio, stick with the w950. You will be very disappointed with the Dash's sound quality verses any SE phone's audio quality--especially with the wired headset that comes with the package. The ds970 works well enough with the Dash, but the track ID info does not appear. Only caller id and status symbols. The web on the Dash is pretty damn slow on edge, even with the proper memory allocations and regedits. Wifi is slightly better, but it is not the connection, it is the way PIE and the OS handles screen rendering. The only 3rd party browser that seems to work well is Opera 8.6 for WM5 smartphone and up. Firefox is working on one, but it's release is months off. Netfront on SE is worlds ahead of PIE and slightly better than Opera. The battery is decent, although because this is primarily and email machine, and I have multiple accounts that check often, I only get 12 hours of use between charges (Bluetooth continually on, and Fizz weather updates).

After almost a year of teaks, regedits, and application installation, I am finally content with this phone. It should be the hands down best phone i've owned, but all the functions (and there are many) don't work as well as they should right from start. Tmob cripples many of the better functions, leaving you to manually edit things. Also, with any WM2003, WM5, WM6 phone, you will get occasional crashes, frozen screens, and inexplicable battery discharges every now and then.

My Dash:

Facade
Fizz Weather (careful with this one--creates conflicts)
Opera 8.6x Smartphone
Flash Lite 2.1 (In-browser support)
Orb
TCPMP
Windows Live Search
Garmin GPS 10x
Resco Explorer
Pocket Regedit
Pocket NES
Wordpad

thanks~ I traded even with my se w950i with a htc s620 unbranded, I always thought it said in green htc on the top left but it doesnt have any brand on it.. but it is an htc s620 unlocked.
I love this phone, I think the sound quality is superb and even the speaker phone is very loud. And the volume strip used as a scroll bar is awesome!!
Oh and the ds970 used on the htc is 100x better its much louder and has a much stronger feel to the music and quality wise.. The se 950 mp3 play back was disappointing and when I think back all the walkman phones I had, had disappointing music playback the quality is good but the volume was all too soft. What's the point of quality if you cant hear that quality that well unless your in an absolute non moving quiet environment.
