What is the difference between the Sprint Treo 755p Vs. Sprint Treo 700p ?

From what I see, not much at all. 755p is a little smaller but also uses a smaller battery (slightly less life) and also uses a mini-SC card, which I personally hate. As far as OS and the rest, they are virtually identical which is good and bad. There are a few slight differences (colors available for the 755) but nothing to write home about. This is one very sad "upgrade" by Palm and apparently the 755 is not WiFi capable either, if that's what you are really after.

Just got my 755p today, not too much difference. It feels allot different in the hand and when talking on it. It was available in two colors from sprint, blue and red. It has no external antenna, the mini sd slot is on the side. I am converting to palm platform of the treo from the windows version (700wx) so I dont have to worry about resetting my device ever 5 seconds, and I hope it will not reboot itself ever 10 seconds like my treo 700wx did. All in all I am happy with it, I am using it with the activesync exchange server and so far it works great. That was the only reason I used the windows version was because I did not know that the palm os would support direct push through exchange server. If I run into any problems I will post it, also, I was glad to see the palm version has a threaded sms app, and pic mail. The windows version has niether of those options from the box. If anyone has any specific questions, just ask, I will do my best to answer them.

Is the 755's Bluetooth implementation any better than the 700p's? The 700p's Bluetooth is abysmal.

i cant answer that, the bluetooth on this 755p is so much better than the 700wx was

I am just really sick of all this ******** these companies keep throwing at us. The 700p is my third treo version and frankly I am still waiting to be impressed by Palm. I like smartphones always have and always will, but every year or every few months they release new phones which don't really offer that many new features or even better performers, most still have alot of kinks, my 700p still manages to freeze and reboot itself when it feels like. I have learned to deal with that especailly that I don't have any extra software on my phones, but here they are with the 755p which is basically the exact same phone (not smaller, minimally faster, same processor, only think new is data transfer software, i.e. im, email, etc, and oh yeah the new colors, ********.) Why do we have to keep spending good money and still get ****, the phone is not cheap so Palm please give us something to be proud off, everyone I know with blackberry's still brag to me about not have any issues and I really can't say anything back. I love the palm os, really can't stand the windows interface and the blackberry at all. Sorry ranting. Anyway the point of this post is this, if this new phone is "minimally different from the 700p (basically eye candy upgrades) why didn't they just produce software upgrades for the 700p rather than produce a new phone 755p. save the new models for something big, rather than this new crap, it not an improvement, I love new gadgets but this is one that I am not biting, its ******** and we as the buying public just deserve better, after all these phones cost without a plan 500-600 dollars, thats a new exhaust for my M3 but you guys get the idea, I just think we deserve more for the dollars we shell out, instead of a new colorful 700p. Plam if you guys read this forums know that we are getting fedup with the crap you keep selling us, thats why you are losing so many customers to blackberry and those alike.

Paul-Patterson:

To answer your question, I've had my Treo 755p for a couple of days now, but I'm not getting the resets, bluetooth drops, P-Tunes skipping, or white screen lags that I always got on my 700p. After applying the Sprint MR, the lag and P-Tunes was much better, but then I found my bluetooth hanging and my device resetting. Got fed up, bought the 755p, and thus far I'm very happy with the new device. The battery life is not quite as good, and so I may find myself investing in the Seido extended battery, but for now I'll live with it. The phone is a bit lighter, and I find that it feels much more secure in the hands, with the rubberized cover and the indented sides. Hope this helps you out on your quest. I know I love reading people's feedback on tech devices myself.

Compare red apples to green apples

I have a Palm Treo 700P and I feel that Palm has just lost its edge.

When I read about the Dash on T-mobile and teh Iphone - all phones should be able to access WiFi networks to do stuff at faster speeds when in the office - not like us having Bluetooth problems.

The blackberry Pearl is a great phone - my friend has it.

Things have got to change or I think that Palm will soon go under.

Palm created a major fiasco in my opinion in regards to the 700p and the numerous bugs that just never seemed to get addressed. Although the MR for Sprint customers did much to improve things, the lag is still not completely gone, and the bluetooth works better as far as staying connected, but now I find that after about 8 hours of connection it hangs my headset. I moved up to the 755p only because of the frustration with the 700p and then I started getting resets, sometimes several a day. The 755p seems to be doing way better, but to be completely honest, I'm no longer excited about the Treo products. For the first time in years, I'm actually considering turning this 755p back in before the 30 days grace period runs out, and moving over to Windows Mobile Pro 6 platform on the HTC Mogul. I've got a lot of software invested in the Palm platform, having used them since the early Handspring days, but I just haven't been able to get over the bitterness I feel in the buggy product they put out in the 700p and their seeming lack of caring for their customers concerns in regards to it. I keep waiting for Palm to step up to the plate with some amazing technology to answer some of the newer stuff coming out from other vendors. I'm totally disillusioned. Anyone able to help me fall in love with the Palm products again? Maybe someone with Windows Mobile experience can tell me how bad the OS is. I'm even tempted to cancel my Sprint contract and buy an iPhone with AT&T, but I feel Sprint is the better cellular provider for me. Help!

I am so glad you put it that way. I ranted and screamed and cursed glad to see you guys share my feelings on this. I really wish all those that have problems with their phones would post here and then maybe we can send a copy of the posts to Palm. Maybe that would give them a wake up call, but hell they haven't showed they cared all this time so that probably wouldn't even mean anything to them. I am keeping my Treo 700p till the end of my contract with Sprint then I will be in the market for something new, that will function as promised and I swear it will not be anything Palm. I am one customer that has had enough.
