BlackBerry BIS Question

All,

I have gone back and forth between the BlackBerry and other phones in the past, resulting in 5-7 accounts on the BIS login page with AT&T. I have a certain mycingular.blackberry.net e-mail that I want (my name), however I have used it in the past so it is locked out of the system. What is the easiest way to get something such as this unlocked?

Thanks!

Don't think that is possible, but you might try contacting Cingular and see. In any case, you shouldn't be using that account anyway as it will cause more SPAM to show up.

when my t-mo BIS was reset (moving from ERP to consumer) i was unable to access use that same address as it was "taken". after 22 minutes on the phone with 'berry support (who needed to contact RIM) the address was "freed" from my old account and i was able to create it again.

i hope you would have the same result through cing tech support.

to avoid this in the future i believe you could delete the address before canceling the service, which should leave that address "open" if you come back (if no one has beat you to it).

good luck!

Definitely delete the address next time. User ID's can't be freed up and unless you delete an address it isn't feed up either. However, deleting the *.blackberry.net address will free it for future use. I think you're SOL at this point unless data support can do something for you.

While I'm on the topic, what is the period of time that these are "held?"
