BB 8100 Pearl Randomly erasing SMS and call log.

My one month old BB Pearl has been working flawlessly until today. I went to use it earlier and discovered my call log for the past several weeks was now empty. Then opened up messaging and discoevered all my SMS messages were gone. My emails were all still there, just my SMS were gone. Then, as soon as i got an SMS my pearl would delete it before i got a chance to read it.

So i reset the phone and took the battery out and put it back in and the phone is working fine now...but is this a common problem?

I had the same problem, pulling the battery fixed it, like you.

Update the OS

A battery pull will address the symptom but if you have memory leak issues it hasn't addressed the problem (requires an OS update).
