Blackjack w/ Opera on IBM Java

Ok, so I have the IBM Java environment installed on my BJ, and I installed Opera into that to avoid the stupid "can i connect to the internet" every five seconds using the normal Java VM built in to the phone. Only problem, the soft keys aren't working, it shows the opera version of them as well as the phone version, and when you hit them the phone ones light up but nothing happens. I hope thats at least marginally clear, it does work, but the smart keys dont because the phone isnt recognizing that opera has its own image map and interface for them.

IBM Java doesn't support Opera Mini soft keys.

The Q and the P keys act as the soft keys in IBM Java.
So use the Q key as the left soft key
Use the P key as the right soft key.

It sucks but it's better than nothing. Give it a shot, it works on my Treo 750, I believe it should also work on the blackjack.

Well, A is the left soft key, I can't seem to figure out what the right one should be though. Still kinda sucks the soft key display takes up so much space too.

I'm trying to get J9 to work with Widsets. None of the keys seem to activate the softkeys. Has anyone gotten Widsets to work under any JVM?

Did you download the low-memory version of Opera Mini? The high memory version of OM creates the softkey problem. OM works perfectly (including softkeys) with J9 when you install the low memory version.

Widsets is standalone - nothing to do with Opera. But there was no thread dedicated to the softkey problem in general.
