I just wanted to be sure that if i don't get the data plan i can still get my e-mail from the exchange server via wifi? Thanks

Yes. WM5 and WM6 can sync using wifi with an Exchange Server. There's no issue there. To ensure you don't connect to the data network and get charged huge charges for data usage, go to:

Start
Settings
Connections
Connections
Advanced
Select Networks

Then, for EACH network you find, **DELETE** the Cingular connection.. You'll see it as Cingular GPRS and MEdia Net. You'll need to go to the EDIT screen to do this. Then, to avoid the stupid popups all the time, go to Settings and then to Sounds & Notifications. Turn OFF the notification for "Connection established".
