Want to use Ety wired headset with Dash

I'm really annoyed by the mini-usb do-it-all function of the dash.
I'd like to be able to use my own wired headset (not simply stereo headphones which there are adapters for) such as the ety.com, theBoom, or plantronics wired headsets.

Is there a mini-usb to 2.5mm or 3.5mm jack that will allow for headset capability?

if not, can I take the wired headset that came with the Dash and splice the wire with say the Ety or theBoom headsets?

Yes.

I've been looking for the same thing, for the same reason; and no, the 3.5mm jack can't handle a mic.

I couldn't find an appropriate connector at Softpocket, or expansys.. or anywhere for that matter. If you have any success please let me know.

This adapter is longer and has a mic built in! To my mind you would need the short cord version of earbuds so you dont get tied up in wires though.

Personally I would skip the mic.

I received the mini-usb to stereo adapter, tried it out with the wired ety and outgoing sound does not work. So no go.

So, the 3.5mm stereo headphone jack has a mic pick up too? And you get a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter?
