t-mobile SDA memory problem

Ok so i've been getting MMS. but now i can't recieve anymore it says my phone can't dl the message because there is not enough free space for message downloading.. try freeing up some space.
so I cleared and deleted all other texts and MMS and cleared the recycle bin
am i going about this the wrong way?
