P800 as BT modem for Mac & T-Mobile

Does anyone have the settings for using the P800 as a BT modem in Mac OS-x with T-Mobile. Thought I had it set up but T-Mobile has an "accelerator" that loads by default that wreaks havoc on web pages. When I use IE, the web pages won't load and I get an error message that it doesn't know what application to use to open the site and when I use Safari, the web pages do not open but rather they download to my desk top. This happens whether I am using GPRS or dial-up. Any suggestions?

I had encountered the same problem when using my P800 as a BT modem with my Powerbook G4 laptop running OS X. I found that by downloading the Mozilla browser (www.mozilla.org) I was able to access the accelerator page and configure my settings. Once I did that I could browse the web freely. I could never get Safari or IE 5.5 to work - but Mozilla works every time for me.

Hope this helps.

Mozilla solved the problem - thanks for the tip.

I have just a quick question. What do you guys have for the Bluetooth modem? There's no SE P800 listed for it under network..

Funny - I thought I would try my T39 on GPRS - It fine worked in the past, I haven't changed a thing except go to 10.2, and the GPRS works on the phone.

It connects OK but I can't load a page even in Monzilla, it used to work with IE and Safari - have the settings changed for the DNS servers

216.155.175.40
216.155.175.41 for the west coast

get more speed proxy port 8080

Or maybe it's just having a bad week - I usually use CSD.

So it works again with no DNS servers in network preferences. Wierd - still it's always seemed slower than CSD

I use Ross Barkmans (i think thats his name ) Ericsson GPRS scripts, works well, and the ericsson irda script seems to work fine for the bluetooth CSD connection. But thats with the T39 - shouldn't be much diffferent I would hope!

I use the Ericsson Infrared modem script. I have downloaded Ross' scripts - does one of them work better than the infrared?????

Infrared script works ok most of the time. I also has luck with Ross' Ericsson 14.4k script but you should be fine with the IR script using CSD. Sometimes it doesn't connect but it usually works the next attempt.

To load opera and other programs on to the P800 do you just download them to the desktop in OSX then dump them on the BT file exchange icon to load them on to the phone. Can't wait to get one, but I might have to wait till they get a little cheaper and work with isync !

Seriously... lack of iSync support is killing me.
