confused about something?

I know this may sound dumb, but aren't there 3 different companies making the same phone?
I got my xv6700 from an ebay store and it was sold as an audiovox. i put in the battery and it says HTC on the inside and the battery says utstarcom.
alright i know that audiovox and utstarcom and the same company now, but what about HTC. I looked up some accessories for the phone and there were listing seperate for audiovox, utstarcom and htc all had the 6700. the only one that resembled my phone (verizon) was HTC.
