p990 scrollwheel assembly (replacement) how-to?

Anyone know how to replace/resintall the scrollwheel on a p990?
I just got one in a trade, knowing full well the scrollwheel wasn't working. I've gotten it working when the phone is disassembled, but can't figure out how to put the thing back together so there's sufficient pressure on the wheel to make it work (keeping contact with the sensor disc beneath it).
Right now I've got two small metal discs and a tiny spring that seem to be involved but I don't know what to do with them!
If anyone's ever done this and knows what to do, *please* reply or PM me. Muchos gracias.
