Transfering Phone Book with MPT

I can't seem to figure out how to transfer the phone book files from my brother's old RAZR to his new RAZR. I don't want to put them on the sim car because then when I copy them to the phone I have double entries and you can't assign ringtones with them on the sim.

Is there a step by step guide on how to do this somewhere? I have figured out just about everything else with MPT except how to successfully transfer numbers.

use the backup/restore function and just click on contacts(skip calender) - then restore to the new phone. it does the phone and sim separately.
