Redundant email text messages

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Everytime I send an email from my gmail account, either thru the blackberry, or through my laptop computer. I get a text message of the exact email from me in my Pearl. Is there way to disable this, as I find it redundant and unnecessary. I tried searching for this as an existing thread and was unable to find it, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks all.

are you using gmail? if so, it's a function of gmail. go into your bis account and create a filter to filter out your own address.

You should be getting an e-mail copy not a text message too.

i had the same problem, i signed into my t-mobile and created a filter so it wouldnt forward email that was from my own address and no problems since

I'm guessing the OP is mistaken. Text messages have different icons -- the slanted envelope.

It's a known "issue" that you will receive email copies of sent mail if you're using gmail (gmail doesn't have separated inbox, sent mail, etc) with BIS and haven't set up a filter to prevent this.

I was getting the exact problem on my new 8830. This link solved my problems. Thanks goes to Ofelas for providing it on another thread.

Not positive what your problem is but it sounds like you set the filter to not forward mail that's TO your email address instead of mail that's FROM your email address. Double check it.

Hi MilkHam I made sure i did it right, i double checked it and still does the same thing, i thought it was BB thing or a problem with gmail, but nothing has been reported, I will keep trying.

im a novice to the blackberry but you could try setting up the filter and then resending your service books from the t-mobile page. no idea if that will work though.

Posted by: gregosdge1

Oh I tried that already at the website and I also delete the account and set it up again and sent the service books. I had a nextel bb and I did the same thing with gmail and that worked fine. I hope its just a glitch that is really small, because this stinks to get the email repeated back to you. Thanks for your input..ps I am also a newbe but I am learning something everyday...

Milkham just wanted to let you know that the filter now works, i guess it was a gmail thing, but there is something i should add, i have 2 gmail accounts and 1 of them is forward to the main one that i use, so i don't know if you have to have the filter on both of them but i added it to the list of filters on tmobile.com and now it works so just a little fyi for anyone that might have the same set up as i do.
