I have a v3xx(cingular) and my friend has a LG(verizon, not sure what model, but newer). I want to send him some ringtones via bluetooth. The devices find each other with no problem. I start to send, they connect, then it says connection interupted, transfer failed.

Am i doing something wrong? Or are these two phones just not compatable.

By the way, i do not know that much about BT

Your phone is compatible, your friend's Verizon phone is not. Verizon cripples their Bluetooth so that it only works with a headset, and is not set up for OBEX (object exchange) which is what you are trying to do by sending ringtones.

Thanks for the info! That sux for him! So I cant even send him stuff from my laptop via blutooth?

Well, you may be able to, but I am not sure. I know that there are hacks and stuff for Verizon and CDMA phones, but I really have no experience with that. You want to search for a guy named Mark Venture here on HoFo, he has links in his sig to his site which has a lot of info, specifically related to Verizon.
