hello, i have a razr from verizon that i dont use anymore, my mom has sprint, i was wondering could i flash the sprint firmware on the verizon razr and use it on the sprint network.

You can try, and you might be able to get the software on the phone, but you will not be able to register it on Sprint's network. The IMEI number of the phone is not in Sprint's system, and they will NOT under any circumstances activate an IMEI that is not in their system.
There is a sticky in the Sprint forum regarding this type of stuff, you should check it out.

they use esn numbers, and i believe they will activate it if its not in there systems because how do you buy a new phone, dont you register that stuff when you buy a new phone. i believe they dont register the phone if its registered as lost or stolen

If the phone's ESN or IMEI is not in the Sprint database, they will not activate it, period. You can buy a new phone, because it is Sprint branded, therefore it is already active in Sprint's system. They keep track of all of the phones, activated or not.
