RAZR MAXX Ve A2DP and RingTone Qs?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

ok, so i got this awesome phone today, but am sortof disapointed. I upgraded from the A950, which allowed me to set any sound file (.mid) as a ringtone, and that lead to me creating ringtones and transfering them to my phone via TF. HOWEVER, the maxx does not allow me to set any sound file as a ringtone except for the built in ones... Has anyone found a work around for this??

if you could, please give a link to a step by step tutorial..
i have tried to TXT myself a sound file that i know to work with previous VZW phones as ringers, it was under 300 KB and it said i could not send it because it was too large...

also

i am using the Jabra BT620s headset, and when paring the maxx only sees it as a handsfree headset and not as an A2DP headset, but the headset is supposed to do both.

i have used the stereo audio fuctions on my laptop, and am wondering what is involved to make the Maxx see the headset as a stereo headset and not a handsfree headset.

any and all help is greatly appreciated. i am expecting to become a very active member of this forum, so watch ouT@!!!

Then you'll need to understand that there is a dedicated Verizon/Moto section -> http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=294 where MOST/ALL of the discussion of the Moto phones Verizon sells/uses goes on...

As for ring tones... they MUST exist in the phone's memory.

hacks/info on the Maxx Ve we have so far -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/MaxxVe.htm

I guess you missed the part about it being a quick collection of notes right now, rather than exact process write ups or how to's...

Its meant to get you started if you can't wait for fully detailed how to guides...

but if you've done any verizon/moto modding... you'll understand it...

ok, you strike me as somewhat of a wise ***....

I like that!

i am new to phone modding when it comes to actual software and firmware changes on the phone, and have no intention of doing those things unless they are described in full. i dont have much time to putz around with these things as i am quite busy with work and school, but i love to read what others have written on the topic.

I don't have much time to put into writing guides in full detail... what with a job, personal life, and all... so as a stop gap, I'll put up the notes I've collected until I actually get a chance to sit and write up the guides with all the details...

this is meant to help people get started and have SOME info until a full step by step guide can be written... That way every single person doesn't have to figure it all from scratch on their own... i.e. someone else arleady discoved, so here is some info to help you along the way...

Remember... this is my HOBBY... I don't make any money from doing my pages so that is why its "as time permits" and that is why my sig asks people to not PM me for help... (as for the ads on my pages... the person hosting the pages gets that money due to hosting the pages...)
