Slim Phone - First phone not from Nokia!

Hi,

I want to replace my Nokia E60 (I don't like it at all. slow laggy, and big).
I usually carry 2 phones, I won't get rid of my 6230 as a 2nd phone for anything.

But for my main phone, I want something new and I would like to try LG or Samsung. I looked at what Nokia has to offer and I think they lost their way a little, being always a Nokia user I am disappointed.

The features that are important for me:

#1- Good quality speakerphone! I use it a lot while driving.

#2- FAST menu scrolling and option selection! I cannot stand the laggy menu on my E60 and freezes, I want something FAST and responsive like in my 6230 (not 6230i which is slow).

#3- Phone Book, I want something that I can browse fast, that has smart search like in the E60, meaning I can write the word "FAX" and it find all the titles containing that word, not only the once starting with "FAX". Also it would be nice that I can copy from the SIM and to the SIM with one click all the contacts, I don't know if the phones have this option.

#4- Good (Doesn't need to be excellent, but not below average) Battery life.

#5- Looks. But that is to the eye of the beholder (me)

All of these have BT, 2MP+ Cam and SD Slot that I want as well.

Samsung U600 (340$) / Samsung X820 (200$) / Samsung P310 (350$) / LG KE820 (340$)

Any input about these phones and my needs?

Thank you!

Well if your not wanting anything fancy then check out Motorola has to offer. They are very hackable and allows many many personal customizations. I personally like the looks of the Razr Maxx or even hold out for the Razr II.

Personally I've been down the Motorola road and although it was very fun hacking, I got bored after mastering.

In your case, to use as a primary phone it would be ideal. The new motorola lines are very mature and are very responsive and reliable with good call coverage.

Thats just my two cents

Actually I don't like Motorola at all. I didn't use the new models but I did use the Razr and Razr V3 quite a lot and didn't like them. Speakerphone has a pretty bad quality on those models as well.

thanks

I have the Samsung P300, the predecessor to the P310.. It's a great little phone overall, but there is no way that its speakerphone is loud enough for routine use in a vehicle. I haven't been able to find any news about improved audio in the P310.

Stay away from the CU500v. I sent several back before they replaced it with a V3xx. I sold the V3xx on ebay the same day and ordered a N75.
