Does Windows Mobile 5.0 work on a Samsung i830?

Has anybody experience running Windows Mobile 5.0 on the Samsung i830 world phone? This upgrade is available for the i730 and I am thinking of downloading the same software for the i830. The technical department of both Samsung and Verizon do not know of any trouble but also cannot recommend the upgrade either. Does someone have experience here?
