Bell UBC Students plan

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: migo

$25 (not sure if it includes SAF/911, probably not)
250 minutes, by the second after the first minute
Unlimited Evenings & Weekends after 8
Bell to Bell
Caller ID
Voicemail

24% off Data/Blackberry plans.

Not sure what other universities it's available at.

Posted by: quix

My UWO plan is:

$20 + SAF + 911
200 minutes
unlimited eve/wknd after 8
detailed billing
caller ID
voicemail
call conference,waiting,etc
mini mobile browser (500kb)

Anyone with a student card/# for a university should ask Bell about a plan from that university, as that is what they usually require for it.

Saw an ad posted in the UBC Bookstore... Features that I remember are:

$17.50/mo
250 minutes
Unlimited WN/WE from 6pm - 8am
Caller ID
Enhanced Voicemail

24% off Data/Blackberry plans.

Anybody know if this promo requires a contract? If so, for how long?

Posted by: AdmiralPaulo

all promos from bell require 3 year term.

Posted by: baiksusan

This is for TAs only.
This plan does allow 1year contract which is the best part of the deal.

Posted by: grogbert

so can regular ubc students get the special plan?
has anyone gotten it yet?

Posted by: twisted1

I saw the sign in the bookstore today, I think it says it is open to all UBC students, faculty, and staff. I also think it says that you aren't required to sign any contract.

Posted by: deviatorz

Aww that's a pretty wicked plan. I gotta check that out, can anyone confirm this (that it's for students)? I think you need to be 19+ for that plan but i might just get someone to help me ^^.

Posted by: twisted1

By the way, I'm pretty sure it's $17.30, and I guess SAF and 911 on top of it.

Does anybody know the ID number for this plan? I'd like to switch my contract to it but customer service is giving me a hard time without me having the ID number.

Thanks.

Calm down son, have you ever considered that maybe he does go to UBC? Either way, it's not like they're operating at a loss with these plans.

Yet they advertise it in the bookstore where thousands and thousands of students frequent everyday

With that said, any UBC student is probably eligible for this plan.

Posted by: Tsuioku

Been hearing rumours that this promo is over? Anybody care to confirm? Haven't really had time to drop by the Bookstore lately.

PS. I AM A UBC STUDENT =P

Posted by: deviatorz

Me too, been too busy to go to the bookstore. Student promotions usually end by the end of sept I'm guess because that's when rogers MY10 is going to end.

Posted by: Damackz

THIS PLAN IS ONLY FOR TA's
Students are not eligible for this plan. If you have a clueless/unethical rep that puts you on this plan, you are lucky. And it is still on going for TA's

I have the flyer right in front of me.. it says that it's open to "STUDENTS, STAFF & FACULTY". Let's not dispute this any further.

Just looked at the Bookstore site and it looks like there are two promo plans from Bell...
1. UBC Individual Plan (which is open to Students, Staff & Faculty)
2. UBC Departmental Plan (which I'm not too sure of the details).
Perhaps the latter is what people have been saying is only open to TAs...

Posted by: widget_13

Am I a UBC student? Yes I am.

I can't find the link to the bookstore info on the plan though...

Posted by: widget_13

Nevermind, I phoned the bookstore.

The ID number for those who would like to switch to it is: 106351731

Strangely enough they didn't need my UBC student ID number.

I think when you switch the plan, Bell will ask for your ID number then. Anyways I'm just assuming.

Posted by: Damackz

Yes there is a plan for students, staff and faculty......however that is not it! the code they give for that plan is for the TA as I previously stated......the departmental plan is right but they have the wrong plan advertised for the UBC individual plan

Sorry to bring up an otherwise dead thread, but does anyone know if you have to pay for incoming texts with Bell's UBC plan?

If so, how much is it? How much are outgoing texts?

Thanks,
Jeff

I went to the bookstore just to double check, and they said that without a plan, incoming texts are 15c/ea.

You can get a $5 text plan that includes 250 outgoing texts and then incoming texts are free.

I wish this wasn't the case!
