AT&T marketing

as much as people on here complain about our commercials, we do have one that people absolutely love and never gets old...if you don't believe me, there is a facebook group of 30k people that love the commercial with the mom and daughter talking like they're sending a text message. for those of you that think our marketing dept is doing so terrible...find me a verizon commercial that has gotten that kind of reaction

And what makes that commercial popular? It's funny, clever and has people you can identify with. Most AT&T commercials utterly lack all 3 important attributes.

i'm just sayin, maybe we're headed in the right direction...but you've gotta remember, we've been in the midst of rebranding and it's hard to be funny or involve people in the commercial while trying to tell people you're changing your name

one think I always like about the Verizon ones are that they always seem to be adding new features to their network (ringback tones, IN thing, video services, etc.) while Cingular seems to merely advertise phones and now their "unlimited" talk/text, which if I didn't know better would think from just watching the commercial it means everyone. That's ridiculous. But I'm getting off track, Verizon always uses very new music to promote commercials and I would imagine that makes teenagers feel appreciated more.

we do that to a certain extent, with all the advertising of the blackjack and sync...advertising hbo mobile, sports updates and even the whole napster music deal. we had a few good ones back around march madness involving cingular video (which is now cellular video...the lamest freakin name ever!). these seemed to work pretty good as we had a lot of people coming in asking about it, although many had a misconception of what it really was...thinking it was live tv. i find most of our commercials that actually deal with our features fairly good, but they always find a way to confuse the customer. it's hard to explain to a customer that $5 doesn't get you completely unlimited text after that's pretty much what they just heard on a commercial. but our advertising is getting better and i expect that it will continue too as we get out of all this rebranding mess...especially with the iPhone coming out

no our commercials are terrible... let me say this again terrible!!!! We don't make money on phones only service and we never push our service the only thing I hear about is the drop calls which is pure BS. I think ATT is a great company I just think the former CINGULAR is a terrible company and hopefully we will start rewarding our customers for staying with such a crummy company.

The former Cingular and the new At&t are still the same company. You do realize that don't you?

again, do you actually watch any of the like 10 commercials that advertise CV, AT&T Music or text? typical you to pick out half the commercials and say they're all terrible

Posted by: MrDumbDumb

CV is not a feature... it's a waste of money!!! How many times can you watch the same clips over and over...If MobiTV was included with CV then fine, but it's not. AT&T music is just worthless junk!!! and text...yeh, we get more complaints about unlimited text and talk for 5 bucks...our commercials are terrible, terrible. ATT philosophy is and was completely different the Cingy philosophy. I'm not talking about what you are calling ATT now. We had great commercials that were memorable. The "no circles" commercial with Geoge's Dad, Magnum PI and the "you will" future series, the carrott top ads. Even the current bundle with the hunting cheetah and bundled DSL is better then any trash the CINGY people are coming out with, and no one believes the old CINGY trash anyway.

you obviously don't check out CV very often...it keeps me from having to stay up to watch the late shows, snl and stuff on comedy central, as i can skip straight to the good parts. and sorry, but what part of free music for a year is worthless junk? but yeah, you're obviously clueless...our company has the most popular commercial out there yet all you can talk about is all the trash we put out. how about taking a minute and read what the people that really matter think....link

by the way, didn't say CV was a feature...but you do have to have media max to watch it, i have had surprisingly few chargebacks on those plans and i'm not even in a 3g market

CV is garbage almost as much as a joke as PTT. Seriously the average user cares for that stuff? CV looks horrible even on the low resolution LGCu series phone. Plus its just clips. Who wants to watch 2-3 minutes of a show.

2-3min of snl, leno, daily show or colbert is about all you need to watch...it's better than having the entire hour of the show and having to skip to all the good parts. i'm not gonna sit here and say it's great, it really does need to look better...but it's not some horrible thing, it does get you media max plans and i very seldom have chargebacks from those...so it must not be so bad to other people as well

I just saw a commercial l/n continuing the fewest dropped calls/drop out thing with a mother talking to her daughter in Vegas and jokingly stating not to get married there. Of course her daughter laughs but the mother hears nothing, and then she says nervously "don't do what I did!". I actually found that one funny, not as funny as the "bff jill" one, but not bad.

The best part of the commercial is the girl's face when she says "my bff Jill?"

I think the commercials have been getting better, the new one with the wife who tells her husband she's pregnant, and then the call drops and he's freaking out in the street is hilarious!
