Old fashioned phone ringtone??

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've been looking all over and I haven't been able to find a ringtone that sounds like an old-fashioned ringing bell type phone...

What I'm looking for is something like this. Preferbly free since I have the cable and BitPim and all that...I tried using GIN to get that ringtone, but MyTonz isn't on the menu under Get Tones...

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

This needs to be converted to midi, If I had the time I may get around to it. Otherwise, do some research on a decent sound program if you want to do it yourself.

Chris

PS.. I like the attatched one that came from a review of howards main site..
[EDIT]never mind, i can't attatch midis.. look for howards newest review to find it anyway[EDIT]

Thanks for the link, but not really what I'm looking for...I want something that sounds like an actual ringing bell...Like metal on metal...

You know how good old rotary style phones used to sound....

There might be something in the Yahoo! groups that has that ringtone, but it will probably come out distorted.

Let us know if you find something that works! Thanks!

Maybe something like this?

ring....

I don't seem to get anything when I click on that link....

Odd. It should download file called old.mid (MIDI file) that I created with Anvil. I can play it with anvil but not with media player. Oh well....

I will give it another try later.

Please do...I'm curious to hear what it is...

When I download itl, all I get is a .2kb file that doesn't play anything...

I will work on the MIDI file. Here is the original WAV file. In the midi file I cleaned it up and doubled the rings - but you will get the point from the initial WAV.

OLD FASHIONED WAV

Also here is another MID that I use for my personal ringer du'jour

That's exactly what I'm looking for!!!

If you can get that into midi format, you'll be my hero!

I have a WAV file very similar to that that I've been trying to convert to MIDI but I've had no luck whatsoever...I don't have much experience coverting audio files though, so I'm basically stumbling in the dark...

I'll be anxiously waiting....

thanks for all your help

I tried converting that ringer WAV file into a midi using Anvil Studios, and the results were disappointing (to put it mildly). I tried another program called Intelliscore, and that didn't produce acceptable results, either.

Hopefully, another will be more successful than I have been.

I tried both of those programs as well...maybe someone with more experience will know how to do it, but I'm beginning to think it might not be possible...
