I just got a pm8200 from a friend and noticed that the ringer is all the way up but you can barely hear anything when the phone rings. I tried the speakerphone and its the same way. is it possible that the speaker is blown? if so is it difficult to change?

It's possible. Do you have Total equipment protection or the Service plan? If you do, take it to a Service and repair location for Sprint, and the speakerphone replacement is no charge. If you don't, it's $55.. but that's an easy fix.
