Everybody seems to want T9 text input for the P800.

CIC, the company that currently supplies JOT for the P800, will be supplying WORDCOMPLETE for the P800 in the near future. This will ELIMINATE the NEED for a T9 based input system.

just got here

yes it will eliminate T9 for "pen based" devices, but for the devices that don't have the luxury of "pen to screen"...T9 will be around for awhile.

I hope"wordcomplete" dictionary will be able to "learn" like T9

can't wait for it to come out

If you go to the CIC site and look at the Wordcomplete info, you will see that you can have the dictionary learn new words. It will also show the words most often used at the top of the pop-up list. You can remove unwanted words from the dictionary as well.

I never said it would eliminate the need for T9 text input ENTIRELY for ALL DEVICES. I was talking about the P800 exclusively, since this is the P800 /UIQ forum!

P.S. UIQ = User Interface Quartz = TOUCHSCREEN.

It was just his opinion. U shouldnt take everything on the forum at face value.
But I do share rips opinion on this. I think if wordcomplete is implemented well it should elimenate T9 for most penbased phones (that it supports). Writing is just so much easier.
