I have aquired a Sprint K1m that I was going to re sell. Come to find out it has an outstanding bill owed on Sprint and they will not reactivate it for anyone that I might sell this too. So I started wondering if it was possible to mod this phone in anyway to work on the verizon network. So I could use this phone. Any help, tips, or pointers would be appricated. Thanks.

I went ahead yesterday after some reading and flashed the phone with the verizon K1M monster file. After the phone was flashed I logged into Verizon's website and activated the esn number on the phone. It accepted the esn and said phone successfully activated and told me to wait 5 minutes and dial *228. When I tried to call this number the phone wouldn't dial out at all. Just sit there then come back saying activation failed. So i took the phone down to the local verizon wireless store and told them I bought it and it activated but wouldn't dial the *228. After looking it over for a few and seeing it was a sprint phone he went in and change some numbers or something on the phone. Then he dialed the *228 and it activated fine. I am using it as I type this. I just don't know what he did to the phone to make it actually dial out. Thanks for offering tips and anything else that is a must do to the K1M I would appriciate. I have been reading through threads trying to be as self sufficent as I can. Thanks again.

He took it to the back and raped it... j/k. Maybe seem editing?

Whatever it was he did I don't think was a seem edit. He just typed some codes into the phone standing right there at the counter. He told me sometimes Motorola are bad about not updating correctly after they had been activated already. I entered something right there on the handset. The he power cycled the phone and was able to dial *228. We waited and it came up and said programming complete. And the phone is working perfectly.
