would you give up your Blackjack for an IPHONE?

my old phone was a SE p910a and i love the thing for 2 years untill i messed it up and i had to get a new phone. at the time, jan 07, the blackjack seemed like the best option for the money since SE wasnt even considering making an 'a' version of the p990. have to admit i liked the blackjack for the most part, eventhough for a smart phone it does some very stupid things. now that the IPHONE is about to come out, i am very tempted by it. the only thing that bothers me is the fact that i wont be able to connect the IPHONE to my laptop and have internet via usb , like i do now. its kind of silly but i dont want to pay $500 for the IPHONE and then a monthly fee of $50 for high speed at home. what do you guys think, would you give up your Blackjack for the IPHONE ???

No, I would not have even left verizon if I could not have 3g speed

Hellllllll no. And I don't even live in 3G coverage yet. Windows Mobile + real keyboard > all.

i would have to see and use the iphone first hand to have to say... but then again i really have to say that it is all your preference... it all depends on what you like and what you dont.

i agree, I'd also want to see the iphone first. I like some of the ideas Apple is going toward with the iPhone, and everyone who has used one all seem to say that even discounting the other features, it's the best phone (for calling) they ever used. So... I'd want to see.

Give up a Blackjack? Maybe.

Give up a good WM phone? No.

iPhone isn't 3G which is similar to having a Blackjack with very little 3G coverage. Is it me, or has the 3G roll out petered out?

3g is strong around me. i never would have converted to ATT w/o 3g. I use my phone to tether from work quite often. I need speed

I just left verizon for a Treo 750 and Blackjack. If there is a ver.2 of the iphone I'll consider it then. No 3g no iphone for me.

Blackjack all the way..the 3G in New Orleans is one of the strongest (do a google search on it if you don't believe me) don't mean to brag though

HAHA-- no way. No keyboard, no thanks.

Devices with keyboards are becoming the "standard". But the virtual keyboard on the iphone hasn't been really reviewed yet to slam it. However I know one thing for sure the iphone keyboard will not have. Tactile feedback.

Do not under estimate tactile feedback.

how can you release a $500 phone without 3G...and any kind of office application. Iphone is useless

You better believe I'd trade it. After all I only paid $25 for it. After I got the iPhone I'd order another BJ.

It didn't say "trade". It said "give up". The question didn't say anything about getting it at a reduced price.

I am not that interested in the iphone because there is no 3g and no keyboard, however if they do upgrade it with 3g capabilities I think I would give it a shot.

Off the subject but does the N95 have US 3g capabilities. i really want to buy a second cool smartphone with 3g speeds. The BJ does all I really need, but i want something a little flashier. 5 mp camera would certainly be nice too.

Plus the iPhone won't come with iChat. So no AIM or chat programs. Also, eventually you will run out of memory on an iPhone. With a Blackjack, technically you will never run out of memory with the ability to use storage cards.

I have a blackjack and overall I'm pleased with it. But I'll be trying out the iphone. Specs-wise, it doesn't match the blackjack, but the user experience may be something entirely different. If it's all it's hyped to be then great, I'll use it and if not I'll stick with what I've got or go with something different like the q9, etc.
