KX2 Help Needed

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have a KX2 that I have had for a while, and the other day my friend was looking a the programming menu on it, and after he got done it no longer rings or retrieves voicemails or text messages. However when i call out it retrieves the messages, and then will acknowledge that there is a voicemail or text messages.

Basic info:
Provider: Cricket
"Phone was flashed to cricket from verizon about a year ago"
Location: Phoenix

I am not sure if there is something in the programming menu that disables its ability to connect to the system for voicemails and text messages, or why it wont ring. So if anyone has any ideas I would really apreciate any help. If your on cricket here in phoenix with a kx2 perhaps you could provide me with the numbers that belong in all the settings so I can compare and see if something is out of place.

Thanks,

Mike

I don't have a KX2 handy, but try this:
Menu > Settings > Network > Set Phone Line. Your cell phone number should be checked. If it is not, highlight it and press OK to change it back to your cell phone number. If you do not see your number in there at all, you're going to need to get your phone reprogrammed. All CDMA phones are dual nam. I'm guessing your boneheaded friend put your phone on NAM2.

It was on the first option which is my phone number, however the second option is also my phone number,(they both have the same phone number) so I tried that, and when the phone turns back on it says its in digital roaming. So I put it back to the first option.

Is it working now?

Nope, I for the time being changed my service over to an old phone that a friend let me borrow. If anyone has all the settings for the programming menu, from a KX2 I would really appreciate it.

1. Power up phone and enter 111111
2. Select Options
3. Scroll down to Service and Hit [OK]
4. Scroll down to Programming and Hit [OK]
5. Enter Security Code(Sublock/SPC) (default is 000000)
6. Scroll down to NAM1 Info and Hit [OK]
7. Select MIN(MSID) and Hit [OK]
8. Press and hold [back] to erase default number
9. Enter in MIN(MSID) and Hit [OK]
10. Scroll down to MDN(CTN) and Hit [OK]
11. If the MDN(CTN) is different than MIN/MSID, press and hold [back] to erase default number and Enter in MDN(CTN) and Hit [OK]
12. Scroll down to Home SID and Hit [OK]
13. If the NAM Home SID is different, press and hold [back] to erase default number and Enter in NAM Home SID and Hit [OK]
14. Hit END

The thing is that CDMA cell phones have two numbers. They have a mobile system identifcation (MSID) and a mobile directory number (MDN). Your MDN is your cell phone number. The MSID is the number that the serving system uses to find your phone. Many times, the MSID and MDN match. However, your MSID and MDN may not match. If you still can't get it to work, you can just bring it into a store and they can probably get it working for you.
