After a lot of troubleshooting and talking with Cingular tech support, the solution was pretty easy. On the BJ change the communiucations mechanism for the USB connection to "modem" and plug in the USB cable. After the proper drivers install, open the device manager and locate the SAMSUNG CDMA modem and open the properties. Click on the advanced tab and type (case sensitive): AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","wap.cingular" After this, setup a new modem connection and use the following information: Phone Number: *99# Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM Password: CINGULAR1 Double click on the connection and viola, your computer is now tethered and you can surf the internet, download mail, etc. Note, you do need a proper data plan from Cingular for this to work |

Typically I am one who usually likes to test early Beta file releases....however with the present keyboard issues with 'no function' when holding down a key for Alt symbol...I will hold off until the official updated files for WM6 are released... That being said question for those who have installed and are in the 'testing phase'.... 1) Has the issue with the present crippled JBlend files within WM5 been rectified....like the Gmail App....(not having to use the IBM J9 Java files, with the font fixes, ect)? 2) Does the apparently updated PIE for WM6 still get the dreaded blank white page on sites when surfing from data corruption issues...on occasion? |

I just think that's a little weird is all, and it's not WM6, as it happened with WM5. So far, that's really the only gripe I have, now if we can find some good WM6 themes, I'd be happy ![]() |

I installed Windows Live Mobile on my phone, it asks if I want to synchronize with outlook and merge duplicates so I let it. I noticed there were some contacts still on my phone and not on Live so I told my phone to add them to live. Then I thought that maybe I could tell my phone to not synchronize contact and e-mail with my computer. I was wrong. My contacts from my phone were deleted, as well as all of my contacts from Outlook with the exception of maybe 15. Outlook is setup with the Office Outlook Connector, so when that happened, almost all of my contacts from my Windows Live account were deleted. I opened up my Windows Live Messenger as a desperate attempt and saw all of my contacts dissappearing. Sucks. |

But I wouldn't touch any Moto Smartphones with a ten-foot pole. If you think Samsung is bad at fixing phone specific issues, wait until you get a Moto Smartphone

OK I knew I tried this last night but it didn't work... if you try to app unlock your phone manually (registry change to HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\0000101b key from 0 to 1 didn't work because the key already existed and was locked). To fix this you either need to download the SurrealNetworks App Unlock or make it yourself (google is your friend). Install this cab file and reboot your phone... you will then be able to change the key listed below: Step by Step: 1. Get Internet Sharing files from HoFo (see this thread for a link) 2. Copy those files to DEVICE\Windows\ 3. Install the SurrealNetworks App Unlock Cab file 4. Reboot device 5. Edit key on the device: HKLM\System\State\Connectivity\InternetSharing to a value = 1 Optional (fixes links and icons) 6. You will need to add these keys and values to your device's registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:M SINTERNET_SHARING Values under this key: Value Name Value data Base Value type 0 MSINTERNET_SHARING REG_SZ 1 IntShrUI.exe REG_SZ 2 1 Decimal REG_DWORD 3 0 Decimal REG_DWORD HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\intshruiapp\DefaultIcon Values under this key: Value Name Value data Base Value type Default tapres.dll,-14294 REG_SZ HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\intshruiapp\SelectIcon Values under this key: Value Name Value data Base Value type Default tapres.dll,-14295 REG_SZ When you launch the program you'll have to do so from Windows\IntShrUI.exe, unless you create a shortcut in your start menu....
