My belief is they are now checking the OS of your phone when subscribing. I was running the original "leaked" WM6 ROM with all working fine until last week when I was trying to help someone with a Java game. The game would fail to install and then I noticed WM native applications would not download either. I called into 611 and once they found out I was running WM6 they said it was a phone issue. My response was that dog won't hunt because installs from non-AT&T sites are working fine (Java and WM native) - just everything from MediaNet is failing. After upgrading to the 2nd ROM, I tried to re-register/subscribe and download MyCast Weather. I could subscribe but never rcvd a chance to download the JAR/JAD files. Looking at my subscriptions, the new subscription was never picked up by the MediaNet system. I looked back at the history (WM5 and WM6) and all other duplicate subscriptions were there so I know it is NOT a phone issue. Once up on the new PDA load, I again tried to get MyCast Weather with the same result. From my experience, WM is usually an all or nothing type of thing especially with data i.e. it is either all working or all not working.... anyone else? |

An AT&T SIM must just present a different list, or my SIM is just weird, etc. Annoyingly, those registry settings do not 'stick' upon reboot. I've tried a registry editor on the BJ and on the desktop. I can set those entries from 1 to 0, but as soon as I reboot they reset back to 1. Doesn't seem to matter whether the GSM connection is on or off. NBD for me, as I'm on AT&T and have a no-roaming-charges plan anyway.

A question to start off with, anyone know if the original WM5 had any major differences between the rebranded WM5 available on samsung's site.. if so I might want to get someone who has it to do a ROM dump... by the way someone asked earlier about .NET 2.0.. the date on that is from feb.. so is that before or after the service pack? Also, curiously WM5 had an SDHC driver. I guess it was broken. The same driver (updated quite a bit) is included in WM6. Guess more than the BT stack was rushed/borked :P

DaG i think the main improvement in the rebranding rom was just enhanced roaming, so id guess there would be little to no need for stock. |

I actually removed it JUST because of this. I think there was another post that said you could use the "back button" (sideways "U") and then "4", but to me, that's still too much trouble. (yes I know, whine whine whine) Once it was removed, the "End Call" button lock works as normal. |
I don't have a BT headset so that's gonna be up to someone else.

I found this site which describes shortly what the value stands for but i'm not following it 100% if someone can tell me what the WM5 had set it would be great. another key in there i'm interested in is a dword called Capability. so i'm looking for HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AudioGateway BRSF = ? Capability =? from a blackjack running the original or rebranded rom. Actually, a full dump of HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth would be good. -Matt |

http://blog.enrii.com/2007/09/22/in...-6-to-computer/ Here the steps on how I finally did it using the USB cable way: 1. On your PDA, tap Start > Programs > Internet Sharing. 2. Select "USB" for "PC Connection" 3. For "Network Connection", choose the one that you will use to connect to your 3G from PDA. For my case, I'm using "Maxis Internet". 4. Tap "Connect". The PDA will attempt to connect to the USB, then to the internet using 3G. 5. Then, at your laptop, you will see a network connection, just like another LAN connection that you have. That's it! You should be able to access the internet by now. To share a connection with bluetooth has almost the same steps, except that you will need to create partnership between your laptop with your PDA first |
