Yup no fun is it. I am now on my 4th BJ1. I replaced mine due to the recall, and the 2nd and 3rd had a problem with just randomly ending my calls. A reboot fixed it some times. Chudy2, do you think you can solve the RSK problem for all of the above situations, or just the "call status" situation? If the former, fantastic. yes, I did do the unlock, I had to do that to get google maps installed.

I was trying to change the startup and shutdown sounds (start.wav, stop.wav) but it would not let me replace the files saying they are read only

I was also trying to replace the one of the samsung homescreen xml files and got the same error. (trying to make the samsungpopup smaller and fit in fizz weather but its not working very well).

How does the speed with WM6 compare to the speed with WM5?
it seems alot slower sometimes. like when I go to certain menus I sometimes have to wait 5 seconds before it comes up. However, sometimes its fine.

I dont really have a need for mobile office. outlook html is nice but I can live without it. The main reason I wanted to upgrade was for increased speed and stability. I'll try this for a few weeks but if it stays like this, I'm thinking I would want to go back to WM5 because it seemed faster. Perhaps its all in my head, I guess I should have measured the times on WM5 before upgrading.

If youd like you can test out the beta rom, of course that involves erasing the stuff on your phone. Sign up on the site in my sig and send me a PM, i'll give you an invite to the beta. That way you wouldnt have to do the registry editing stuff, just load it up and go.

RSK is in, but it doesn't work with WM6, probably the API changed. Find another smartphone with that functionality we can get a ROM dump from!

Take a read thru the forums over there, lots of info about the ROM and what's changed. No idea if it's faster or slower, no one's benchmarked it yet..

Basically I think samsung owes a paycheck to DaG for work done to improve their phone, especially since they promised what he delivered! Tx also deserves compensation for providing it to is, instead they told him to shut down. I for one will never be buying a samsung product for the rest of my life and i know a few others have made this decision too.
